The way to success

Karsten Herrmann and Heinz Knittel founded the HKM-Messtechnik company in 1988, in Freiburg.

The first products were force transducers that were based on strain gauge technology. They paved the way for the successful development of HKM-Messtechnik into a medium-sized company.

A solid base and the resulting continual growth meant that a move to larger premises was necessary as early as 1990. Since then the company floor space has been steadily increased.

The two founders of the company, who still run the businesses to this day, together with the 45 people now employed, are guarantors for HKM-Messtechnik steady development into a long-standing partner for prestigious companies and institutions. The innovative skill and the quality of the products have proved to be extremely competitive in international competition too, so that, today, over 70% of the HKM products are exported world-wide. 

Our prime objective, and an important element of our success to date, is maximum customer satisfaction.  

A high degree of innovation, based on state-of-the-art technology, forms the basis for a continual and healthy growth. Despite this, we still retain our flexibility with regard to our customers´ wishes.

Our development focuses especially on the demands imposed on our products by the widely different applications and uses possible.
